About Me

A native of San Jose, I grew up in the Almaden valley, at the edge of San Jose's urban sprawl.  I attended the great Westerner preschool and loved Frontier Village.  Then I discovered swimming, the first year of swim lessons I apparently was not a happy child, and learned to sink like a rock.  The second year, and a bit of sibling rivalry had me breezing through the classes and by the end of the summer had joined a swim team, which became my second home for the next twelve years.

Eventually I went to college, UCR, majoring in political science and minoring in history.  I joined a fraternity, the Beta Rho chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma, making some good friendships, downing some cheap bear, and testing some leadership skills.  I was also a political junky, active in the Model UN program, which among other things took me to New York three times.  I then graduate school, University of Iowa, studying political science.  Since then I have become an industry analyst, currently working for IDC covering the Electronics Manufacturing Industry.  In my spare time I read, like old movies, look after Sparky, and try to find time to travel, pursue a hobby in photography, and other sundry things.
