Cruising the Mekong

One day, I hired a boat to cruise up the Mekong to the Pak Ou caves, about 20-25 miles north of Luang Prabang.

My Capitan, and you can get a sense of the comfortable features our our boat.

Here we are approaching the cave.

Here, in the cave, are some of the hundreds of statues of Buddha.  The cave has played a role in local religion since the Thai/Lao people migrated west from northern Vietnam, 6-700 years ago.
