June's Retirement Party

Deciding it was time to drive my uncle Bob out of the house, or at least to do more stuff around the house, my aunt June Marcipan decided to retire.  I imagine she also wanted more time for shopping, lunches, and the rest of her social agenda.  So my cousin Bill and his wife Celine decided to conspire to throw a surprise retirement party for June, and a wake for Bob's life of Riley.  They were sinister enough, and smart enough, not to tell Bob.

Well as the photos show, operational security for the party was maintained and neither one of them had a clue as to the party.  In fact, Bob was a bit peeved that he was not told, but I think it worked out for the best.  And in any case, June was shocked to walk into the restaurant to see about 30 friends there waiting for her.

Paul Gibbons, a long time friend of June and Bob, and I took pictures of the party.  Anyone else with photos can feel free to send them to me (michaeljpalma@yahoo.com) and I will post them to a gallery so they can be shared.  In about a week's time, I will also add a multimedia slideshow of the photos.  Below are links to the galleries of these photos.

In any case, I would like to wish June a happy retirement, and good luck putting up with Bob.

Even Bob did not know what was going to happen
