Ta Keo

Located east of Angkor Thom, built around 1000AD, generally lacks any detailed ornamentation, unusual for Angkor .  It is one of the great temple mountains at Angkor .  It is more than 20 meters high, and with the steep, narrow steps leading up to the top, can bring out a fear of heights more than any other building at Angkor , at least in my opinion.  I was frozen for about 10 minutes at the top, looking down at the steep side, where the steps were significantly narrower than my size 12 boots.  No railings, escalators, or care given to liability concerns (although they have cleared the entire Angkor complex of land mines, supposedly).
